Post-Soviet States & Corruption

(Under “Corruption”), With a score of 136/180, apparently Kyrgyzstan is perceived as being equally corrupt with Russia.

On a not-unrelated note, E was stopped for the third time in the same place this month for ‘not stopping for pedestrians at a cross walk’ when a police associate ran at his car while he was driving over the crosswalk.  This time he yelled at the police officer and told him he wouldn’t pay the $10 bribe-fine anymore.  Police officer was apparently taken aback, but still pressed him with an official traffic violation ticket.  At least the money won’t go in the pig’s pocket?
